President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged the Armed Forces to maintain teamwork to restore peace and stability across the country.

He noted that the working together of the different segments of the Armed Forces was yielding positive results.

The President said the military must work together to deliver the nation from insecurity and other forms of criminality.

A statement yesterday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy, Mr. Dele Alake, said President Tinubu spoke when he decorated the new Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) and other service chiefs with their new ranks at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The decoration ceremony followed confirmation of the security chiefs by the National Assembly.

The newly-inaugurated service chiefs are: Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja; Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar; and Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla.

The President said teamwork led to the gains the nation recorded thus far in the security sector.

He lauded the dedication, commitment and steadfastness displayed by the Armed Forces, acknowledging their contributions to peace and stability.

“We have seen that we are recording positive results in our security challenges because of your dedication, commitment and steadfastness,” President Tinubu

The President assured the new service chiefs that his administration remained committed to supporting them in their responsibilities.

He urged all members of the Armed Forces to see themselves as a single family, regardless of their diversity.

President Tinubu stressed the need for honest service to the nation, saying everyone in government, including the service chiefs, must embrace this.

The President said he and his team were working hard to solve the current economic challenges that Nigerians are facing.

“We are committed to serving you and not to rule over you,” he said.

On behalf of the service chiefs, General Musa expressed their unalloyed commitment to ensure the security and defence of the nation.
